Funny T-Shirt Designs Make a Statement

By Stephen Major

For hundreds of years, words have frequently shown themselves to be more powerful than other weapons. When you apply this truth to modern styles of apparel, t-shirts have grown into a means of getting a message across. A variety of purposes exist for t-shirts - to cheer up someone's day or display your loyalty to a favorite band.

My most favorite t-shirt and the one I most vividly remember as a child was one with a smiley face on the front. Since that time, I have noticed different designs that made me smile; the ones I remember the most are the ones that made me laugh out loud. We all want to laugh, when times are smooth and when times are rough.

I've observed sayings such as 'happy, I'm nappy', pictured with an image of a dark skinned gal with nappy locks. Another one was the 'baby on board' slogan with a warning sign, and one with the nursery rhyme about this little piggy, with a depiction of a bare foot.

From nursery rhymes to nappy hair, this canvas is proving to be a powerful way to go. Last fall I added to my own collection of t-shirts, that had different seasonal items outlined in gems of rhinestones. I love that t-shirt so I returned to get a few more and they were all gone.

A lot of rock bands utilize t-shirts as a tool for their fans to anticipate as well as remember them by. A lot of music reaches into our souls and when this happens, a lyric from one of our favorites can allow us to focus on the real purpose. Those results range from special partnerships, seasons, the look on a face, and so on.

When we see a song title on a t-shirt, it reminds us of the tune and brings us to a happier place. Messages like these remind us that our favorite symbols, regardless of our age, are universal in terms of how we view life. It is a method that reminds us we all share this world and we can learn from the message that is woven into the fabric.

A lot of different designs target our desire to be in fashion, even if it means we have to spend a bunch. Some t-shirts at the pricey end of the spectrum retail for $75 or as much as $500, according to what they are made of and what they depict. Those on the high end of the spectrum include actual diamonds rather than rhinestones and premium cotton fabric. They might feature genuine gold thread or semi-precious gems that add to the price-tag of the apparel.

Anyways, laughter is universal, along with enjoying humorous slogans and the desire to look attractive. T-shirts are a great choice, and according to the latest sales figures, they aren't going away.
