Have you been thinking of getting pierced you're probably a little intimidated and have some questions? I'll go over some of the questions I get asked most often about piercing and body art, to give you a better understanding of the whole process.

The second thing I always get asked is. How much does it hurt? Well everybody is different and yeah it's gonna hurt, but the pain fades quickly, Most piercing pain will last only a few seconds, with the exception of some delicate genital piercing's, trust me, you want your piercer to take some extra time to ensure the safety and accuracy of these piercing's!

The piercer you have chosen should be using a fresh sterile packed cannula needle at the time of your piercing. A piercer might also engage the use of a pair of forceps to help pull the skin out and maintain the accuracy of the piercing. This is also helpful in ensuring that an adequate amount of skin is grasped before a piercing is placed in the skin.

Many people find the experience of a piercing similar to that of a bee sting. Pain medicine is not usually offered, because it is minimal and short lived. in most cases with the exception of body piercing in more delicate area's which can be a little sore for a few days. Although, there are some topical analgesics that you might find available.

If your checking-out a new boutique watch how they handle their equipment, are they using freshly sterilized tools and are they kept in a separate tray away from the used ones. Contaminated piercing supplies can cause HIV, Hepatitis are any number of infections. Think about it, your letting someone stick a needle in you thousands of times drawing blood from your body, don't you think the needle should be sterile.

Ask your friends questions about the different places they've gone to for their piercing's, and what they liked or didn't like about each place. Ask specific questions about the concerns you might have. Like, are they professional, is the place clean, can you trust them. Try to get a feel for what place you would like to check-out first, but visit more than just one.

If you need more choices in the designs you will be wearing you can try 18 k gold or even niobium is a safe bet.
