Shoes and shoemakers are a dime a dozen, right? Wrong. Men and women who believe that they can make shoes are a dime a dozen, but men and women who can actually accomplish the feat of making something entirely unique and comfortable are very difficult to find. There are plenty of people out there who have dreams, but most of the time these dreams do not make for comfortable, or stylish, shoes, and the dreamer finds themselves making things other than shoes. It?s hard to remake something that has been being created for hundreds of years. The creator of Ecco shoes, however, managed to do it and do it well.
How Ecco Shoes Began
In 1963, Karl Toosbury decided that he wanted to create the most comfortable walking shoes in the world. Unfortunately, no one believed in his dream. This often happens to inventors: they can?t find anyone to invest in their idea, and without an investor, you can?t create what you?re trying to make. Karl decided that, instead of sitting around moaning about his problems, he?d take care of it himself. He sold his house, and his car, and started making his shoes. His motto was ?not the biggest, but the best?. In order to achieve this motto, he ordered the rawhide and processed it himself.
It took awhile for Ecco shoes to catch on, because the company and Karl were more focused on making comfortable shoes and getting them on feet than they were on advertising. They believed that, once people felt the comfort of the shoes and saw how amazing they were, they would come back for more and word would spread by mouth. They were right. Once Ecco shoes did catch on, it was like wildfire. Now Ecco is owned by Karl?s daughter, Hanni Toosbuy Kasprzak, and makes over twelve million pairs of shoes a year.
What?s Special About Ecco?
So what is so special about Ecco shoes? For starters, they?re made like a European shoe. It is a documented fact that Europeans have far less feet problems than Americans have. The hand crafted shoes are better than those made in factories by faceless machines, and the insoles have a comfort fiber system which has a memory foam that absorbs perspiration as well as odors.
Examples
Ecco shoes are available in every type and style, from dress shoes to sneakers to boots. All of the Ecco shoes are made with comfort in mind first, but as time has passed, the styles have changed to reflect the style of today. If you?re looking for boots, the Ecco men?s Track Elite boot is all you could ever need or ask for. This boot has a Duratherm lined Heel and a lugged outsole for ?off road? use.
If you?re looking for shoes that will last, be comfortable, and look great, check out all of the available shoes that Ecco has. Ecco shoes are known around the world for being one of the best things that has ever come out of Denmark.
