Cosmetic Colored Contacts - Effects Lenses For Everyone

By Mike Rigby

People often want to reinvent themselves and change the way they look and ultimately how others see them. Some will take drastic steps to achieve this but most will change only a few things about themselves and leave it at that. Today, people even have the option of changing the color of their eyes with cosmetic colored contacts. Unlike prescription contact lenses, cosmetic colored contacts can be worn by nearly everybody and are available in a wide variety of colors and styles. So whether you want to create that special look for that special occasion or just feel that you would look better with blue eyes, these contact lenses could be the thing for you.

Cosmetic colored contacts have been around for years but were only available to those in the movie industry or theater. Their primary use was for actors to completely look the part. Today these same contact lenses are available to the general public and can be used everyday or for special occasions like Halloween if you want to stand out from the crowd. They are also often referred to as special effects contact lenses or just colored contact lenses.

Special Effect, Colored and Cosmetic Colored Contacts

Due to their popularity, special effects contacts are mass produced or if you really need to, they can even be custom made. Just expect to pay quite a lot more for the custom made ones. They come in a wide variety and more often that not are directly associated to a particular character from a movie. Movies like The Lost Boys have helped make these lenses what they are today.

If you really want to impress your friends, you can now purchase generic cosmetic colored contacts that will transform your eyes to cats', wolves' or even snakes' eyes and still see properly.

If you want to make more of a statement, you could even get special effects contacts that look like zombie or blind eyes. These lenses look like a solid white milky substance that covers your eyes. The only problem with these lenses is that you are not able to see through them hence the reason why you will see people only wearing one lens at a time.

Fire eye contacts are definitely the way to go if making your eyes look like they have totally been engulfed by fire whereas black sclera contacts will give you the look of dead black eyes filled with black motionless oil. You can even use contacts to make your eyes reflect like mirrors or for a bolder look why not try hemorrhaged eye contacts that will give the impression of eyes that are filled with blood

You can even find cosmetic colored contacts that will make your pupils look larger that what they really are and who can forget the glow in the dark lenses.

Whether you only want to just change the color of your eyes or look like a creature from a scary movie, you can rest assured that there is a pair of cosmetic colored contacts that will fit the bill. However it is good to note that although you may not have any problems with your vision, a prescription from an eye doctor is still required for you to buy cosmetic colored contacts.
