How To Color Coordinate Your Suit

By Victor Santerino

Men around the world will admit, when pressed, that they have worn a suit and expect to wear one in the future. They will not admit however to knowing how to color coordinate their clothes. Sadly this leads many people to be confused as to which colors match well with each other.

This article was written to help men discover the secrets of color coordinating their suits. I will go over a few scenarios that might be used in a particular wardrobe.

Coordinating colors can be done by matching the colors to themselves, to similar colors, and to different colors of the same shade. The following paragraphs will give you a better idea of what I mean by this.

The color of one article can be matched to another article simply by using the same color. This can be achieved by wearing a tie and pocket square of the same color on the same outfit.

Using different shades of the same color is a great way to match your suit and accessories. Try wearing a dark blue suit with a light blue oxford or a dark gray suit with a light gray shirt.

The color of an item can easily be matched to a different shade closely related to the original color. Try wearing a yellow shirt with a green tie to really set off an outfit and make it shine.

The preceding three ways of color coordinating can be mixed together to create a great synergistic outfit. For instance you could wear a dark blue suit with a light blue shirt and a white pocket square.

The combinations that can be created with these three types of color coordinating are endless and when combined with coordinating styles and patters can provide you with a killer look. As always thank you for reading my article.
