Engagement Jewelry Without The Stress

By Elvin Retinz

Getting engaged is a stressful enough process without having to worry about the ring. After all, you have to plan how and when you are going to pop the question and worry about whether or not your sweetheart is ready to head up the aisle with you. And of course, you have that pressure from knowing you are about to enter into a lifelong commitment. Cross the ring off your list of worries and follow this simple advice to get the perfect engagement ring that will melt her heart.

You Engagement Ring Design Options

There are two options when it comes to choosing the perfect ring that you have to decide on right off the bat. Are you going to go for a pre-designed ring that is ready to go right from the jewelers? Or, if the sites in the jewelry store don't look all that promising, are you going to custom design a ring for your bride to be?

This choice really comes down to one of money and time. If you go for custom jewelry design, there is going to be a wait involved between the time you design the ring and the time it is ready to give to your honey. This can be fine if you are a planner, but don't expect to decide this morning you want to pop the question and then slide a ring on her finger tonight. Further, custom designed rings can be much more expensive than the pre-designed variety. Since diamonds are not cheap as it is, this added cost could be a problem.

For ease, many guys decide to shop for a pre-designed engagement ring. You won't get that one of a kind ring choice of course, but it can be a lot easier than having to deal with custom jewelry designers, especially if you are not creatively inclined enough to picture what a beautiful ring would look like. The key is to find a store that is willing to take the time to walk you through the process.

Find out up front about return policies and financing plans, and do a little investigation into the reputation of a company before you buy from them. Likewise, don't be afraid to shop around and try to get the best price. Many stores will deal a little bit on their most expensive items, so a little leg work will pay off for you in the end.

Before you go shopping, you should also brush up on your diamond knowledge, so you can walk into a store and confidently separate good diamonds from bad and know you are getting the best deal.
