Silver Wedding Dresses - Are They Right For You

By Jannine Topolski

A silver wedding dress is not common. It is usually the preference of the bride if she likes silver or not. The definition of silver may also be wider than you think since some brides consider very light gray colors as silver.

Choosing silver can be widely viewed as a brave choice to make especially if you are getting married for the first time. We all know that the large majority of brides pick white or ecru as the main color for their wedding gown.

Other brides might also want to accent their wedding gowns with a particular color to make it more beautiful and striking.

Why Choose A Silver Wedding Dress.

The choice of a silver wedding dress could be because the bride prefers the color silver and wants to get married in one. Other reasons could be that the wedding's motif is silver and the bride wants her dress to complement the motif or the silver wedding dress could be a family heirloom that she wishes to wear on the wedding.

Alternatively the bride may want to renew her wedding vows because this is her 25th wedding anniversary. As the color silver denotes a 25th wedding anniversary this seems an obvious choice of color for the dress and the color scheme.

We are seeing a tendancy these days for brides to look for a level of uniqueness for there special day. Picking a silver dress, or any color for that matter, can add to the level of uniqueness. One thing to consider is that silver can cause some reflection from camera flashes which could result in poor photographic qualities.

We all know that black is a great color for making you look slimmer however silver can make you look heavier so please bear this in mind.

The grooms may not agree with the fact that the bride is the center of attention and a bride wearing a silver gown as they walk through the church will certainly get some attention.
